What is PDX?

The Performance Driving eXperience is our way to give those new to road course driving the opportunity to receive live instruction while on the track, with the goal of transitioning students to the SCCA Club Time Trials (CTT) series.

PDX’s take place at the beginning of a CTT event and is usually the first group on track! They are non-competition sessions during which you will have 30 minutes of track time with an instructor in the passenger seat. Your instructor will use this time to familiarize you with track procedures, increase your high-speed driving skills, and make sure you have fun! After your PDX session, you and your instructor will discuss your progress, detailing what went well as well as areas for improvement. In order to “graduate” to the SCCA Club Time Trials from PDX you must be approved by your instructor and the Club Time Trials Chief of Instructors.

PDX fees are $99 per day, but will be free for those willing to volunteer as a corner worker for the day! This program is a great opportunity to get introduced to high-speed driving in a safe and educational environment. PDX will make you a more confident and skilled driver and give you a transition path to competitive timed track racing!

NOTE: You must be an SCCA member to compete in Club Time Trials or enroll in a PDX! PDX follows the same basic entry and on-track rules as CTT to make the transition between the two easier.
